Hello again, In the UK we have just survived a nasty spell off cold, snowy weather. (I suspect that some of us are not out of the woods just yet!) But, whilst home from work, and not able to get outside I read some articles on Arthritis, and one in particular worried me a lot. It relates to deaths caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
There has been some research done by the US journal "Clinical Cornerstone". This is what I found alarming; Over 100,000 hospitalisations per year are attributed to upper gastrointestinal problems associated with prolonged use of NSAIDs. The frightening bit is that about 15% of these people die because of their problems.
These figures relate to the United States and it equates to about 16,500 deaths per year. That is pretty frightening! Anybody taking these drugs should look at alternate ways to controlling the disease.
In the UK scientists at a well known Oxford hospital claim that the risk of death with long term use of NSAIDs is approx 1 in 2000, and this equates to about 2000 deaths per year in the UK. This is about the same number of people that die in road traffic accidents each year!!
Please take a look at some of the alternatives available. You have various options open to you and I can offer help by way of a diet.
For me this was and is highly successful. I no longer take any pain killers at all (except for the odd headache). Do yourselves a favour just take a look at the diet. www.arthritis-solutions.co.uk
See you in a few weeks.

Arthritis and the Cold Weather
Hello to all fellow arthritis sufferers! I hope that the cold weather in the Northern hemisphere is not playing your arthritis up too much? We are having a particularly cold spell, with temperatures in the UK struggling to get above freezing, and well below zero at night. I also note that in Northern Italy that they have had some equally cold weather (around Lucca and Florence.....so not in the Alps, as one might imagine.) So what is happening to the global warming? That's another issue......my main concern is for all the people with arthritis, and that they might have the chance to rid themselves of the disease!
This is possible, it is a choice that each individual has to make, whether to be in pain and suffer, or try something different and give their bodies a chance to heal.
It is also very easy, it is a matter of changing your diets!
"You don't want to" I hear you say. Well at the end of the day it is your choice, but I can only tell you about the euphoria that I felt when I realised that I had beaten this terrible disease, and that it could be controlled. I had my life back!
For some reason, that is yet to be discovered, the body of an arthritis sufferer cannot tolerate some of the foods that most of us eat on a daily basis. It is only when these foods are cut from your diet that you will "cure" yourself!
Please for your own sakes try the diet......you really have nothing to lose.
In fact I propose that the next 20 people to contact me will be sent a copy of the diet free of charge, if they will agree to try the diet properly (you might need a strong willpower...please don't apply if you don't think that you have this attribute), and also to keep in touch with me over the first few weeks to monitor progress. I will help wherever possible and would be grateful if you would supply a testimonial to your success.

Ok that's it for now. I will update in a few weeks. Sincerely, Hugh Bird
